    EU reports show mixed progress on zero-pollution targets

    These documents provide a comprehensive overview of policy impacts and serve as key indicators for the EU’s environmental strategy, reflecting a balanced assessment of progress made and obstacles remaining. The reports acknowledge that EU policies have yielded notable successes, particularly in the reduction of air pollution, pesticide use, and plastic litter at sea. These measures have played a significant role in improving environmental quality across the region.

    However, despite these advancements, the overall pollution levels remain higher than acceptable thresholds, highlighting the persistent challenges that continue to undermine environmental and public health.     Challenges facing EU’s zero-pollution action plan
